Small businesses across Alberta have been on thin ice for far too long. In order for real economic recovery to happen, Alberta's small businesses need to be at the forefront of this municipal election. Regardless of political stripes, now is the time to show how important small businesses are to local economies.

TIME FOR MUNICIPALITIES TO
FOCUS ON MY BUSINESS

DEAR MUNICIPAL CANDIDATES

My small business has been through it all. After grappling with already weak economic conditions, the pandemic brought additional closures and restrictions that continue to affect small businesses like mine. Small businesses are the primary innovators and job creators for cities and towns across Alberta, and we have the ability to pave the way for economic recovery at the local level.

This municipal election is your chance to show small business owners, like me, that you are dedicated to our recovery so we can help drive economic revival for the entire province and local communities.

If you really want to help my business, I ask that you add the following measures to your election platform:

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) is Canada’s largest association of small and medium-sized businesses with 95,000 members across every industry and region, including 9,300 in Alberta. CFIB is dedicated to increasing business owners’ chances of success by driving policy change at all levels of government, providing expert advice and tools, and negotiating exclusive savings.
