Enough is enough. We can’t keep trying the same policies over and over again and expecting a different result.

These never-ending lockdowns are crushing my business and our local economies.

Keeping retailers, barbers and hair salons, our gyms, yoga and dance studios, restaurants and event spaces closed just to send a message to the public means thousands of small businesses will not survive.

This isn’t working. I urge you to adopt a new approach.

I am calling on you to:

  • Ramp up Ontario’s vaccination schedule to focus on workers in jobs requiring in-person contact, including those in businesses currently locked down
  • Roll out a strong, free rapid testing program to allow employers to get or stay open where they can test employees
  • Immediately allow appointment-based shopping and services, including haircuts and other personal services and one-on-one gym training and recreational fitness
  • Replace lockdowns with a capacity limit (eg. 20%) for all businesses
  • Limit lockdowns to specific businesses experiencing outbreaks
  • Immediately announce a 3rd round of Small Business Support Grant funding and expand coverage to all businesses that are locked down or significantly affected by a shutdown or stay at home order

Ontario’s all or nothing approach has failed. We need change now. It’s time to try something new.

Let’s show the Ontario Spirit and save our local businesses!
